prince charles, his mum, and a doodle based on a photo from the sartorialist (no relation, rhyme, or reason) in moleskine
so i’m pretty chuffed about this: who happened to stumble upon one of my drawings of sebastien grainger? sebastien grainger! he’ll be using my drawing in an upcoming ad that will run in the winter edition of bad day magazine. thanks sebastien!!!

i’m not very political but it was kind of funny to me when harper almost got kicked off the helm of this popsicle stand i call my home country…right at the heels of his ridiculous-tax-payer-re-prime-ministerial-power-up. as if the governor general has power!?! she put a cork in the coalition’s plan (so i (might fail to) remember). the prime minister is safe in his seat…for now, ha ha. stephen harper, stéphane dion, gilles duceppe, and jack layton in moleskine.
i haven’t figure drawn since high school so i thought it would be fun to try this again. it was pretty funny – me showing up with my little sketchbooks amidst portfolio touting peoples with giant sketchpads with charcoal and accessories to boot. it was strange trying to get a sense of timing down but it was fun having those impending deadlines so quickly approaching. consequently i don’t think i have much to show (or that i would want to, ha ha) from my first session back. figure drawings (of, i swear, evan penny’s doppelganger) in moleskine.
His album was about the only album I was looking forward to this past fall and I don’t think it disappoints. I’ve been drawing in ballpoint a lot but seeing this and some other drawings makes me want to go back to the felt tips. Sebastien Grainger in moleskine.
nikola is the photographer behind Ambrel.net. i’m not much of a photographer but i do have an appreciation for shooting at night, which he seemed to have a talent for (among other things). the subjects of his nightlife photography are pretty crazy and i suspect that the photos wouldn’t’ve been the same had someone else done them. some of his photos at random, in moleskine.
here’s my sorry attempt at graphic design. it was just a card i created based on a drawing i did of my sister…for my sister’s birthday. it was a rush job (no excuse though, ha ha) but she liked it…that’s all that matters, right?!!?? it was fun trying to come up with something though. i suppose that’s further proof that maybe i would enjoy doing something else for a living…or on the side, ha ha.
